These terms are the agreement between you and Kiatan for using the Kiatan website and app. By using Kiatan you agree to them. Kiatan is run from New Zealand.
Your account
- You can use Kiatan as a guest or with an account. Keep your sign-in details safe; you're responsible for activity on your account.
- You must be at least 13, and old enough to agree to these terms where you live.
- Give accurate information and don't create accounts to get around limits or bans.
Your content
- Trips, notes and documents you add stay yours. You give us permission to store, copy and display them only as needed to run Kiatan for you and the people you share with.
- When you publish a trip to Community, you allow other users to view and copy that itinerary. You can unpublish it at any time; copies people already made stay with them.
- Only add content you have the right to share.
Sharing trips
The owner of a trip controls who can view or edit it. Editors can change the itinerary; viewers can only read it. Owners can remove people at any time. If an owner deletes a trip or their account, it's removed for everyone it was shared with.
Acceptable use
Don't use Kiatan to break the law, harass people, publish harmful or misleading content, send spam, try to access other people's data, overload or attack our systems, or copy or resell the service. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.
Travel information
Flight status, weather, exchange rates, emergency numbers and airport information come from third parties or automated systems and can be wrong or out of date. Always confirm important details, such as departure times, gates and entry requirements, with your airline, accommodation and official sources. Kiatan isn't responsible for missed flights, bookings or other losses caused by relying on this information.
Paid plans
- Kiatan is free during early access. When paid plans launch, prices and what's included are shown on the pricing page and at checkout.
- Payments are processed by our reseller, Paddle, which also handles tax and invoices. Paddle's buyer terms apply to the purchase.
- A Trip Pass covers one trip until 60 days after that trip's end date as set when you buy it. Pro renews every year until you cancel; you keep access until the end of the paid period.
- Refunds are covered by our refund policy.
- If a plan ends, your trips aren't deleted or locked. Paid features stop until you renew.
Availability and changes
We work to keep Kiatan running and your data safe, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free. Keep backups of anything critical. We may change or stop features; if we ever shut Kiatan down, we'll give you at least 60 days' notice and a way to export your data.
Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or close accounts that seriously or repeatedly break these terms; where reasonable we'll tell you first.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or similar consumer laws where you live. Where the law allows, Kiatan is provided "as is", and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or NZ$100 if you haven't paid anything. We aren't liable for indirect losses, such as lost bookings or travel costs.
General
These terms are governed by New Zealand law. If part of them can't be enforced, the rest still applies. We may update these terms; if the changes are important, we'll tell you in the app before they take effect.
